Pep Guardiola hailed Everton’s improvements under David Moyes as he admitted his Manchester City side are having to rely too much on Erling Haaland. Moyes’ men created the best opportunities to score in the first half at the Etihad Stadium.

But having failed to take their chances, they were defeated 2-0 by Haaland’s quickfire double soon after the break.
