Liverpool are looking to reignite their season with a victory over fierce rivals Manchester United this Sunday. After a strong start with five consecutive league wins, Arne Slot's team's title defence faltered in the lead up to the international break.

Chelsea managed a last-minute 2-1 win over the Reds prior to the break, following a 97th-minute winner for Crystal Palace the previous week.

Sandwiched between these was a disappointing loss in Istanbul, as Liverpool fell to Galatasaray in the Champions League, marking their first defeat in the esteemed European competition this year. The Reds now aim to dodge defeat against United, with Ruben Amorim's side not having won at Anfield since 2016.
