Kyle Bartley has opened up about his decision to leave Arsenal for Rangers, admitting it probably was the wrong move for him at the time.

The centre-back spent time on loan at the Scottish club in the 2011 title-winning season before returning the following campaign.

Bartley said he traded a fringe role in Arsene Wenger's first team for regular games under Ally McCoist.

Bartley told Ladbrokes at the launch of Ladisfaction: "I was so young at the time when I signed for Rangers… I might have even been 18 at the time, but it was such a great experience for me.

"Walter Smith was the manager and Ally McCoist was his assistant when I first got there, and in that first season we won the league, I played in the Europa League and then unfortunately got injured towards the end of the season, which ruled me out of the cup final against Celtic, which we won.

"But to be a part of that team who did the double was such a buzz for me, as a young kid.
