The Echo is reporting that Nick Cox has started work as Everton’s new technical director after his appointment was announced in the summer.

This completes The Friedkin Group's acquisition of a highly experienced professional leadership team to succeed the incumbents that got Everton into such a perilous state under the leadership of theatre impresario Bill Kenwright and his chosen CEO, Denise Barrett-Baxendale, former charity worker.

Nick Cox spent 6 years as director of Manchester United’s academy, where he initially arrived as head of academy operations in 2016. He oversaw the first team debuts of 35 academy players at Old Trafford.

Key to his support of youth development was his belief in creating a ‘culture of excellence’ that ensured the club’s rising stars also pursued success in other aspects of their lives, particularly education.
