Aston Villa may be preparing an offer to lure Ivan Toney back to the Premier League in a bid to ease their attacking woes this season.

Toney scored 35 goals from 85 appearances for Brentford in the Premier League, helping them win promotion from the Championship.

The 29-year-old striker completed a shock move to Saudi side Al Ahli in August 2024, for a reported £40million, winning the AFC Champions League in his first season.

Villa have struggled in front of goal this campaign, netting just six times, a tally only worsened by Nottingham Forest and Wolves. This cements what was the club's worst start to a Premier League campaign since 1997-98.

Both parties, Villa and Toney, may be hoping to strike a deal with each other as Unai Emery ponders how to improve his frontline and Toney plans his route back to the England national team.
