Teddy Sheringham believes Alejandro Garnacho was wrong to close the door on his time at Manchester United and move to Chelsea in the summer.

Garnacho broke into United’s first team in 2022 under Erik ten Hag and went on to become a key player for the Red Devils.

However, the Argentine winger saw his United journey end on a sour note after a falling out with Ruben Amorim saw him deemed surplus to requirments at Old Trafford.

And Premier League rivals Chelsea then swooped to complete a cut-price deal to sign Garnacho for £40million.

The 21-year-old is yet to get off the mark in a Blue shirt but has shown glimpses of his potential, particularly against Jose Mourinho’s Benfica in the Champions League.
