Crystal Palace are “favourites for the Conference League” this season and deserve praise for their current rise.

That’s according to Italian journalist Stefano Borghi, who has been discussing Crystal Palace on his YouTube channel. His comments have been relayed by Fiorentina Uno.

Oliver Glasner’s side are currently in vogue after a weekend that saw them inflict Liverpool’s first defeat of the season.

That continued a strong start to the season which begun with a win in the Community Shield against Liverpool in August. They’re also the only unbeaten side in the Premier League in six games, sitting third on 12 points. Indeed, their current unbeaten run stretches to 18 games, the best in Europe, nine ahead of Barcelona in second.

It’s been a remarkable run under Glasner, who is now set to lead them in Europe in the Europa Conference League. They’ll be among the favourites for the competition, particularly given Glasner won the Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt.

They are very much the in-form team in Europe and that’s earned them plenty of fans, including Borghi, who believes they are favourites personally.
