Aston Villa may be able to sign Jadon Sancho for free with Manchester United reportedly willing to forego any potential transfer fee.

Sancho, 25, was signed on loan by Villa in the summer transfer window. He was once one of the most in demand forwards in the world, but the former England international struggled at United after his £73m move from Borussia Dortmund in 2021.

His move to Villa Park represented the third occasion he has been sent on loan by the Red Devils. Following a return to the Bundesliga with Dortmund in the 2023-24 campaign and an unsuccessful stint at Chelsea the following season, Emery's side decided to take a chance on the winger.

Villa are optimistic about helping the former Manchester City youth player rediscover his form. It has been reported there are plans to sign him permanently at the end of the season.
