Nobody in Spain really believes Monchi is set to step away from top level football following his Aston Villa exit. The transfer guru may have insinuated that with his messages when leaving, but few believe him.

That’s partly because he said similar the last time he left Sevilla and within a brief moment he was at Aston Villa. It’s also due to a never ending attraction between Monchi and Sevilla.

They can’t live with each other and they can’t live without each other. Monchi hasn’t ruled out a return to the La Liga side and it’s widely seen as an inevitable step sooner or later.

Not everyone is thrilled about that, with some feeling even the talk of it is disrespectful to current director of football Antonio Cordón.

Estadio Deportivo, the sports newspaper local to Sevilla, now covers the situation.
