Everton supporters got the news they probably didn't want on Saturday when West Ham United sacked Graham Potter and immediately replaced him with another manager who once looked destined for Merseyside. Nuno Espirito has become the Hammers' fourth boss in the space of just 16 months.

It's a run of continuous change that started after David Moyes, who is now back in charge of Everton, left at the end of his West Ham contract in the summer of 2024 after leading them to Europa Conference League glory.

Julen Lopetegui lasted less than a year after taking over from Moyes and so did Potter, who was sacked on Saturday morning and then saw Nuno, who was axed himself by Nottingham Forest less than three weeks ago, succeed him and oversee training within the space of four hours.
