I feel Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s pain right now. There has already been so much talk about his yellow card against West Ham and the suspension it will bring. But let me try and explain it to you from the perspective of someone who has been in the game - someone who has tried their best to help their team, been handed tough calls and then had to sit out and watch someone get the chance to take your shirt. It is hard, believe me.

Dewsbury-Hall has been so unlucky this season. The booking for the quick free kick at Liverpool was so strange and his latest, on Monday night, was almost as bizarre. He clearly got the ball and he won it fairly, by hounding an opposition player in the final minutes and earning the right to start another wave of Everton pressure.

Instead, he ended up banging on the turf in anger and I can understand his pain. There is no doubt he has been unlucky.
