Everton Women suffered their third consecutive defeat in the Women’s Super League after a 1-0 to Brighton and Hove Albion at Broadfield Stadium on Sunday.

Brian Sorensen’s side are yet to secure three points since their fantastic 4-1 Merseyside Derby triumph earlier this month. They’ve lost to Tottenham, London City and Brighton since and were also beaten by Manchester City in the opening match of the Women’s League Cup.

Michelle Agyemang scored the only goal in the game for the hosts. The 19-year-old forward, on loan from Arsenal, slotted past Emily Ramsey from close range after being found by Rosa Kafaji in the 26th minute.

The first real chance of the game fell to the Blues when Maz Pacheco’s cutback arrived at Rosa van Gool’s feet but her shot was tame and was easily saved by opposition keeper Chiamaka Nnadozie.

Brighton pulled ahead just a minute later with Agyemang scoring after excellent work from Fran Kirby. Kirby won the ball inside the Everton half with a superb tackle, overlapped Kiko Seike and clipped a lovely cross to the far post towards Kafaji.
