Former Rangers star Josh Windass is being tracked by West Brom, Hull City and several other EFL Championship clubs ahead of the January transfer window, according to Football League World.
Windass is currently playing for Sheffield Wednesday in the English third tier and signed a new contract in the summer.
He missed the first few months of the season through injury, but he returned to action recently and is in excellent form.
The 27-year-old notched an assist and scored an injury-time winner as the Owls came from behind to beat MK Dons ten days ago and then he scored in a draw with Wycombe Wanderers a few days later.
When fit, he’s a standout player in League One and Football League World have reported that as many as five Championship clubs are scouting him.
West Brom, Hull City, Blackburn Rovers, Middlesbrough and Stoke City are the clubs credited with interest.
Given that he’s contracted at Hillsborough until the summer of 2023 and is a key player for Wednesday’s promotion push, it’ll surely take a big offer for the Yorkshire club to consider selling him, though.
Windass split opinion in the Rangers fanbase during his two-year stint at Ibrox, during which he scored 19 goals and notched 13 assists.
Some questioned his attitude but his numbers were relatively strong and he still makes his love for the club clear on social media on a regular basis.
On Friday night, he shared a clip of a goal he scored against Aberdeen at Pittodrie in 2017 in a 2-1 win.
