Gabby Agbonlahor has backed Brighton & Hove Albion to beat Leeds United this weekend.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed it is “scary times for Leeds” as they could end up in the relegation zone by the end of the weekend.
The Whites are just two points above the bottom three and if they lose against Brighton and Burnley beat Tottenham they will drop into the relegation places.
Brighton are up in ninth but have not won in their last seven Premier League games after a fine start to the season.
They lost 2-0 to Aston Villa at Villa Park last time out and Agbonlahor has suggested that will fire them up for the visit of Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Brighton have only just lost to Villa, they are going to be angry.
“You can only see one winner there. A Brighton win.
“Leeds could end up in the relegation zone. It’s scary times for Leeds.
“It’s taken them that long to get to the Premier League and they are flirting with relegation. It just doesn’t make sense to me.”
Leeds have already lost twice to Brighton in 2021, most recently they fell to a 2-0 defeat at the Amex at the beginning of May.
Graham Potter’s side won 1-0 at Elland Road in January thanks to a goal from Neal Maupay.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Bielsa insisted he cannot take a lot from their meetings last season.
In other news, Leeds United have been left ‘hanging by a thread’ after a new injury update.
