Ray Parlour believes Frank Lampard would put his allegiances to Chelsea to one side if he was offered the job at a Premier League rival.

Lampard established himself as one of Chelsea’s greatest ever players during his 13-year spell at Stamford Bridge, scoring a club-record 211 goals.

His time in west London coincided with a hugely successful period for Chelsea, with Lampard helping the club win three Premier League titles, fours FA Cups, two League Cups, the Europa League and Champions League.

Lampard has managed Chelsea twice since hanging up his boots, first between 2021 and 2023 and then in a temporary role during the 2022-23 campaign.

The 47-year-old took over at Coventry City in 2024 and has had a huge impact at the Midlands club, with the Sky Blues on the verge of sealing promotion from the Championship to the Premier League.

Lampard’s success at Coventry has revived speculation linking the ex-England midfielder with some top clubs, including a return to Chelsea as pressure mounts on current boss Liam Rosenior.

Crystal Palace have reportedly expressed interest in hiring Lampard as the departing Oliver Glasner’s replacement at the end of the season.
