Manchester United are plotting to offload eight players in a bid to secure a blockbuster move for Elliot Anderson this summer. The Nottingham Forest star, who carries a £100million price tag, has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe keen to drum up funds for his signing by selling a host of players.

Rasmus Hojlund, Manuel Ugarte, Joshua Zirkzee, Andre Onana and Marcus Rashford are all set to be shown the door, according to The Sun. A minimum of £60million is being targeted for Hojlund and Rashford, given the buy-options in their loan deals to Napoli and Barcelona, respectively.

Significant losses are anticipated from Ugarte and Zirkee however, while it's reported that United need £19million for Onana to avoid taking a hit when it comes to complying with profit and sustainability regulations. The exits of Tyrell Malacia, Jadon Sancho and Casemiro as free agents will also help to ease the wage bill.
