Arne Slot watched on as his Liverpool side were humbled by old rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup on April 4.

With the Reds exiting the domestic cup competitions, any chance of success this season now rests on the Champions League and finishing inside the Premier League top five.

Now, the FA Cup exit is said to have been one of the three factors FSG will take into consideration when deciding whether the Dutchman will remain at Anfield.

According to journalist Ismael Mahmoud on X/Twitter, Liverpool are still backing Slot for now.

However, the ‘three factors’, only one of which was named as the FA Cup, will be crucial to his future as manager.

Mahmoud wrote: “Ahead of today’s match, Liverpool’s management sent a clear message backing Arne Slot and confirming he will continue next season.

“However, there are three factors that will determine whether he stays, and Slot has already failed the first: losing the FA Cup and crashing out of the competition in humiliating way at Etihad. Good luck, Slot.”
