The attacking midfielder was highly rated and tipped to make a big impact at Ibrox having been on the books of Aston Villa and Brentford and turning down a move to Ajax in between those two spells.

A loan at Kilmarnock during his Villa days passed without much excitement but he had scored goals in League One for the Bees and Doncaster Rovers before pitching up at Rangers under Mark Warburton.
