After the tumultuous week off the pitch and the long break away from it, Ipswich Town is back in the spotlight at Portman Road on Easter Monday, with the finishing straight very much to the fore.

Kieran McKenna will be well aware that the last week has been one that has touched the heart and split opinion, but his message ahead of the game with Birmingham City was simple:

“Unity is found on the pitch, and that is where the minds of the players have been.”

The town boss discussed the aftermath of Nigel Farage’s visit to Portman Road, the reaction from the fans, and the atmosphere in the dressing room, as well as offering a big injury update ahead of the run-in.

McKenna didn’t hold back from admitting the frustration and division felt by his supporters following Farage’s visit. Yet, at the same time, McKenna was also quick to add that by joining the chorus of noise, it would not help anyone. He said:
