Tottenham Hotspur have turned to former Brighton & Hove Albion mastermind Roberto De Zerbi to steer the club away from the unthinkable prospect of relegation. With the North London side languishing in 17th place, a mere point above the drop zone, the appointment is a high-stakes gamble. However, according to those who have worked most closely with the Italian, Spurs may have just pulled off a masterstroke.

Adam Lallana, the veteran midfielder who flourished under De Zerbi on the South Coast, has been vocal in his support. Speaking recently, Lallana insisted there is “not even a doubt” that his former mentor will secure Tottenham’s top-flight status.
