Wolves defender David Møller Wolfe suffered a nasty injury blow in Norway’s goalless draw against Switzerland on Tuesday.

Ståle Solbakken didn’t include the Wolves player in his starting lineup in the latest friendly and brought him on in the 63rd minute.

The left-back came on to replace Manchester City striker Erling Haaland but had to leave the pitch after 12 minutes. Bologna’s Torbjørn Heggem replaced the 23-year-old.

Wolfe was at the receiving end of an elbow under his eye and was visibly in pain.

Drama around Wolves player

Dagbladet say there was an injury drama involving David Møller Wolfe on the pitch that majority of fans at the Ullevaal Stadion didn’t notice.

The Wolves fullback received four stitches to stop the blood flow. As soon as he went down, his teammates surrounded him and Benfica forward Andreas Schjelderup quickly signalled to Norway doctor Ola Sand.
