Rasmus Hojlund was one of three Denmark players to miss a penalty as they lost out on a place at the World Cup to Czechia. The out-on-loan Manchester United striker could not convert their first spot-kick, with Anders Dreyer and Mathias Jensen also failing to find the back of the net.

Viktor Gyokeres, however, fired Sweden through after scoring an 88th-minute winner against Poland to take one of the final spots at this summer's tournament in North America. Anthony Elanga opened the scoring for the Scandinavians, who twice led only to be pegged back by their opponents before the Arsenal striker struck the decisive blow late on.

Italy are also out after losing a penalty shootout to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bryan Cristante and Francesco Pio Esposito both missed, with Sandro Tonali the only Italian to score, while their opponents made no mistake in Zenica to qualify for only the second time ever and first in 12 years.

A dozen years is the World Cup drought Italy are currently on. It will at least extend to 16 after missing out on a third consecutive World...
