Former West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Tony Godden has died at the age of 70.
A hugely popular figure at The Hawthorns, Godden made 228 consecutive appearances for Albion - still a club record - and played 329 times in total for them.
Godden was with the Baggies for nine years between 1977 and 1986, and his career later included spells at Chelsea and Birmingham City.
West Brom said the club was "desperately saddened" by Godden's passing and that "the thoughts of everyone at the Albion are with Tony's friends, family and loved ones at this tragic time."
A tribute to Godden is planned for Friday's home match against Wrexham.
Chelsea, meanwhile, said they were "greatly saddened" by the death of Godden, who made 38 appearances for the west London club from 1986-87.
He saved two penalties in a 1-0 win for the Blues against Manchester United at Old Trafford in September 1986.
