Due to the international break, Preston North End will not be playing this weekend which may come as a gift of relief to some fans.

Due to the top two tiers of English football not in operation, this Saturday has been earmarked as “Non-League Day” which looks to bring more attention to the lower levels of the English pyramid.

As Deepdale will not be hosting any matches this weekend, it is time to look in and around Lancashire to keep the football fixation going, with some teams a stone throw away.

Non-League Day helps highlight the importance of grassroots football and the non-league system in this country, many of the clubs rely on days such as this as a means to bring in extra income and find their future.

Without the system, many players who play in the EFL, Premier League, and the England National Team wouldn’t be where they are now.
