Mohamed Salah’s exit has been confirmed for less than 48 hours, but there is already much speculation around who could replace the Egyptian.

Shortly after the news of Salah leaving at the end of 2025/26 broke, Fabrizio Romano said wingers would be targeted by the Reds in the summer.

A seven-man shortlist was then mooted, which included Jarrod Bowen. But Steven Gerrard has now suggested another West Ham United star, Crysencio Summerville, could be an option for Liverpool.

Gerrard was discussing how the Merseyside outfit will look to replace Salah later this year.

He did mention Bowen, but didn’t seem convinced he was good enough to fill the boots of the Egyptian.

But the Liverpool legend’s verdict on Summerville was much more positive, calling the winger ‘brilliant’.

Speaking to TNT Sports, he said: ”I like Summerville. He is brilliant in one v ones, he looks hungry. In a team that has struggled he has been a shining light and got better as the season has gone on.

”I really like Bowen and think he is a top player but I am not sure he is Salah’s level...
