Rovers picked up their first point in six games after the stalemate at Highbury with a rare clean sheet for a defence which has conceded 65 goals this season.

It was Wild's first game in charge of Rovers after taking over from sacked Andy Crosby at the beginning of the week.

Wild said: "When you've lost 11 out of 12 games, you've got to go 'right, in three days, what is the biggest return we can get to move us forward?'

"Ultimately, defensively, we don't think we've been strong enough and we've been a little bit too easy to play against.

"So we spent most of the week in the defensive third and getting people communicating better, tracking runners, being more solid to play against.

"I thought we stood up to the test well."

Wild admitted that his emphasis on defence may not have made for an entertaining game.
