Arne Slot saluted Andy Robertson’s “love” of playing for Liverpool as the left-back helped propel the Reds a step nearer a return to Wembley.

Robertson was key to a quickfire double at the start of the second half that sent Slot’s side on their way to a 3-1 FA Cup fifth-round win at Premier League strugglers Wolves on Friday evening.

The Scotland international struck a long-range opener and two minutes later crossed for Mohamed Salah to score a second that was allowed after a VAR check.

Curtis Jones notched a fine solo goal 16 minutes from time to render Hee-Chan Hwang’s injury-time effort a mere consolation as Liverpool earned revenge for their 2-1 league loss at Molineux on Tuesday.
