Tottenham Hotspur were plunged even further into relegation trouble as they were beaten 3-1 at home by Crystal Palace.

Spurs are still without a win this calendar year, and their interim head coach, Igor Tudor, has lost all three of his matches in charge so far. He was handed a difficult start as the Tottenham boss, tasked with facing north London rivals Arsenal, who earned the bragging rights with a 4-1 success. The North Londoners then suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Fulham last Sunday, and now they’ve been beaten fair and square by Crystal Palace.

Igor Tudor’s side went into the game against Palace under serious pressure, and things went from bad to worse as Micky van de Ven was sent off in the first half. He was shown a red card for preventing a goalscoring opportunity when he brought down Ismaila Sarr after the Palace winger had outpaced him into the box. Referee Andrew Madley didn’t hesitate in brandishing a straight red card to the centre-back, leaving Spurs with 10 men for the rest of the evening.
