Earlier, I spoke about taking a look at the Ibrox fan forums in the aftermath of Celtic’s stunning comeback yesterday. It won’t surprise you to learn that our two favourite emotions, fear and loathing, are rampant over there.
What amazes me is the bitterness. The fury. The anger already bubbling up around Danny Röhl. He’s been in the job for four months. When things are going well, they sing songs about him. But when results turn, even slightly, the knives come out immediately.
How many times have we said this? No Ibrox manager ever gets time.
None of them gets the space to build. None of them gets the chance to bed a team in properly. That said, their squad has been assembled at enormous expense, and I don’t see much real value in it. I don’t see where he’s made things any better either.
People will give me stick over Chermiti, but I’m not worried about that.
Yes, he scored twice yesterday. Yes, he scored two at Celtic Park earlier in the season and got a hat-trick against Hearts. But do you know what I see?
