Rangers defender John Souttar admits supporters are right to question his team’s mentality after they collapsed and blew a two-goal lead against Celtic on Sunday.

However, the 29-year-old has pleaded with fans to wait until the end of the season before casting definitive judgment on whether or not they have the bottle to win a league title.

Leading 2-0 at half-time thanks to a double from Youssef Chermiti, Rangers were firmly on course to secure what would have been a vital three points in the title race.

They fell apart in the second half as Celtic fought back to claim a point, with the Ibrox crowd stunned at the nature of the capitulation.

Rangers boss Danny Rohl refused to accept that his team had bottled it despite them blowing a glorious chance to close the gap on league leaders Hearts.

But Souttar accepts that questions will now be asked of whether Rangers have the mental fortitude to get over the line in the title race.
