Former Celtic player and current pundit Chris Sutton has had his say on this season’s title race.

The current holders are part of a three-way fight for the Scottish Premiership crown, with Rangers and Hearts, and there are only six points between the three teams at the moment.

Sutton, speaking on Sky Sports, opined on the league's outcome before the Glasgow Derby at Ibrox scheduled for this Sunday.

The former player stated: "Hearts are in the driving seat.

"My gut feeling is that all three sides will drop points on this run. I’d rather be where Hearts are, with the four-point gap on Rangers.

"Celtic have a game in hand, but Celtic don’t have the strength that they’ve had in previous seasons.

"I’m certainly sure Celtic have got to up their game if they want to win the title, but I just can’t see it for Celtic this season."

His focus wasn’t only on the title chances of the three sides but also on other aspects of the competition, such as team recruitment.
