If Arne Slot is to be given the sack at the end of the season, we shouldn’t expect Steven Gerrard to be in the mix for the Liverpool job.

Since retiring over a decade ago, Gerrard has managed Rangers, Aston Villa and most recently, Al-Ettifaq.

His time in Scotland was the most fruitful, going unbeaten to a league title.

But he hasn’t set the world alight since then. Jamie Carragher said Gerrard won’t be Liverpool’s next manager.
