Jamie Carragher has suggested that Dominik Szoboszlai is effectively Liverpool's best option in two positions that regularly trouble opponents. On Sunday, the Hungarian filled in at right‑back against Nottingham Forest, having already done so several times this season, including against Manchester City and Arsenal.

Arne Slot, still dealing with Jeremie Frimpong's absence, has been left short of options at right‑back. The situation worsened when Wataru Endo picked up a recent foot injury.

Only Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones and Joe Gomez remain realistic choices for Slot in the role, with Calvin Ramsay ruled out of stepping up by the Dutch boss.
