Yuki Ohashi scored a 95th minute equaliser to win the Lancashire Derby for Blackburn Rovers as they came out 1-0 winners against Preston North End.

In a feisty rendition of this historic derby, Preston failed to capitalise on their dominance at the start of the second half to fall short right at the very end.

The second-half seemed to be when the tempo got ramped up, perfectly encapsulating the intensity and caginess of this affair, as both teams chased a result to try and put themselves in good stead of their respective situations.

Preston had the opportunity to go into the play-off places, three points clear and put the pressure on Wrexham and Derby to perform, but it was Blackburn who came out the better.

Rovers have now put a little bit of breathing space between them and the relegation zone, with Michael O’Neill now getting his second win in as many games in his new job at Ewood Park.
