I’m writing this early this morning, before leaving for the game. I don’t know the outcome of today’s match at Celtic Park. I don’t know the outcome of the one at Livingston either. I’m writing this blind.
Whether Celtic win today or not, I am already annoyed. Not at the team, but at a certain idiot in the media and the poisonous narrative he’s pushing.
Last week was the first time I’d written about Bill Leckie in a long time. I hoped it would be a long time before I ever had to write about that odious little man again. Yet here I am, doing it twice within a week.
I don’t enjoy it. I don’t want to do it. But his comments on The Sun podcast earlier this week, which I was only shown about half an hour ago, were so appalling that I wasn’t going to let them pass.
Last week, as you’ll remember, I was scornful of the idea that he’s a St Mirren fan. Listening to him on that podcast bang on about how wonderful the Ibrox club are, and how they’ve got a superstar in their Portuguese striker, is more laughable than it is...
