Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is not on Real Madrid's radar despite continued speculation over the future of Alvaro Arbeloa.

Emery has been mentioned as a possible contender for the biggest job in club football with Jose Mourinho also linked with a sensational return to the Bernabeu.

But according to AS, Madrid have not "explored the idea" of Emery who has done a super job with Villa this season.

Mourinho and Benfica do have the option of cancelling his contract at any time, but Madrid fans are not believed to be keen on the idea.

Instead, the club is happy to keep Arbeloa in position after he succeeded Xabi Alonso who left the Spanish giants earlier this season.

Confidence in his ability, however, remains questionable, particularly after their defeat to Osasuna.

Madrid are monitoring who could and might be available, but that's as far as it has gone.

Mourinho also appeared to rule himself out of the job too when he said before Tuesday's game that "there is no possibility".
