Newcastle United fans may be sick of the sight of Manchester City, with the FA Cup fifth round draw having yet again paired their side with the Etihad all-stars, less than a fortnight on from a Carabao Cup semi-final defeat by Pep Guardiola’s men.

The Magpies were knocked out of the FA Cup by City at the quarter-final stage both two years ago and in 2020. The final 16 tie at St James’ Park will be their 14th meeting with the Citizens under Eddie Howe’s management following this weekend's Premier League match.

However, history DOES give United supporters some hope* of springing a surprise in either the Premier League game at the Etihad or the FA Cup clash at St James’ Park next month. Here are the last five times that Newcastle have beaten City.
