Lille are keen on signing Aston Villa’s Lucas Digne in the summer.

That’s according to Media Foot, who cover the Ligue 1 side’s plan to take the left-back away from Aston Villa.

The France international graduated from Lille’s academy and spent two years with their first team.

He made 62 appearances before leaving them for Paris Saint-Germain in 2013, and said it was a logical step.

Aston Villa player dream target for Lille

Digne has been a regular since arriving at Villa Park from Everton in January 2022 and is a key player for Unai Emery. Last August, the Premier League side rewarded him with a new contract until 2028.

He has already played 30 matches in all competitions for the Villans this season. Despite the fullback enjoying regular minutes under Emery, Lille dream of signing him in the next window and the ‘idea of homecoming is in the works’.

As things stand, the potential deal is still in early stages as Digne’s former club haven’t made advances yet. However, Lille are considering bringing him back to the club after 13 years.
