Yesterday, Celtic made its play for it’s Ibrox ticket allocation, and having learned a little about it over the last couple of days the situation simply doesn’t sit right with me. The whole away fan allocation cut thing stinks to high heaven.

These games are supposed to be about rivalry and atmosphere. They are meant to carry that raw edge that makes Scottish football what it is. Yet more and more, the away support feels like it is being trimmed back until the fixture loses part of its magic. Celtic should not quietly accept that. The club should be pushing properly for a fair allocation.

This is not just about ticket numbers or stadium logistics.

It is about presence, identity and respect. Celtic supporters have always brought colour, noise and energy to away grounds and I am well aware of where these allocation cuts started; at Ibrox, where petty decisions and jealousy at our success When that presence is reduced, whether because of hostility, pressure or simple resistance, games lose something important.
