Thomas Frank faced a grilling from the media after yet another Tottenham defeat with the 2-1 loss against Newcastle in the Premier League on Tuesday night.

Newcastle had won just two of their past 15 away games but were the better side in the first half and scored in added time as Guglielmo Vicario pushed out Malick Thiaw's header but the Newcastle man eased past Pape Matar Sarr to tap the rebound home.

Tottenham finally managed to attack in the second half and found an equaliser on 64 minutes when a deep Xavi Simons corner was headed back across by Sarr and Archie Gray fired the ball into the net. However, Newcastle were back in front just four minutes later when Jacob Ramsey fired home from Anthony Gordon's pass.

The hosts huffed and puffed but could not find another goal in the pouring rain and the fans sang for former manager Mauricio Pochettino and for Frank's sacking.
