Leicester City are said to hold an interest in former Oxford United boss Gary Rowett as their managerial search continues - but they could face a fight to get him.

Goal difference is currently all that is separating the Foxes from the Championship relegation zone. On the back of their six-point deduction for breaching financial rules, Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to promotion-chasing Birmingham City added to the club’s woes.

They are without a win in five in the league and have lost three on the spin. Added to that, City are still looking for a replacement for the sacked Marti Cifuentes.

According to reporter Alan Nixon, via Patreon, Rowett could be the man for the job at the King Power Stadium. However, Blackburn Rovers are also said to have their eyes on him.
