Benajmin Sesko is hoping to have a leading role when Manchester United take on Tottenham at Old Trafford this afternoon.

United have picked up three wins from three under Michael Carrick but needed a dramatic late winner from their summer signing to beat Fulham last Sunday.

The £74million summer signing from RB Leipzig started on the bench against Manchester City, Arsenal and against the Cottagers with Carrick opting to play Bryan Mbeumo through the middle on each of those occasions – to great success in the derby and at the Emirates.

But Sesko’s sensational finish in front of the Stretford End has given Carrick something to think about.

Starting the 22-year-old will require one of Amad Diallo, Matheus Cunha or Mbeumo to drop to the bench and having played every minute since returning from AFCON duty, Amad could be the one to make way.

Cunha started on the left of attack in the absence of Patrick Dorgu against Fulham with the Denmark international ruled out until the end of March.

United also remain without Mason Mount and Matthijs de Ligt.
