Leicester City are considering an appeal against their six-point deduction for a breach of Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) after declaring the sanction to be “disproportionate”.

City drop to 20th in the Championship table, sitting outside the relegation zone on goal difference, after an independent commission found them to be in breach of PSR for the 23-24 season and recommended a deduction of six points, one that has been introduced by the EFL immediately.

In response, the club are now weighing up an appeal and whether they have the strength of argument to succeed and claim some of the lost points back.

City’s statement read: “It is with disappointment that Leicester City acknowledges the Independent Commission’s decision and the Club will use the time available to consider its next steps.
