Everton completed a last-gasp deadline-day move for Tyrique George. Once news broke that Jack Grealish was facing an extended spell on the sidelines, it became clear that the Blues were working to bring in reinforcements.

And Everton eventually swooped to secure the services of 19-year-old George, who joins on loan until the end of the season with the option to make the move permanent in the summer. George had been close to leaving Chelsea in the summer, only for a switch to Fulham to collapse on deadline day.

However, there were no such problems this time around, although a deal sheet was required to get the transfer over the line.

And while many view the England Under-21 international as a direct replacement for Grealish, one former Everton star believes George has all the attributes required to develop into a traditional No.9.
