Liverpool's transfer deadline day was all about planning for the future, with the Reds wrapping up a deal for Jeremy Jacquet. French centre-back Jacquet will move to Anfield in the summer despite Premier League rivals also pursuing a move.

Centre-back was an obvious area of concern before the Jacquet deal was confirmed, and now attention turns to other areas of the pitch.
