Watford have cleared the final administrative hurdle to bring Udinese defender Saba Goglichidze into the squad. The defender has received his UK work visa and travelled to England on Monday.

According to Georgian outlet Geo Team, Goglichidze will start training immediately. He is expected to join the group on Tuesday. Watford secured the move as a straight loan until the end of the season, with no option to buy included.

The visa approval removes a common late-window complication for non-UK arrivals. As a result, the coaching staff can now work with the player without off-field delays. Squad depth remains a priority for the second half of the campaign.

On August 2025, Goglichidze signed a five-year contract with Udinese. However, the 1.93m centre-back has struggled for minutes in Italy. That situation opened the door for a temporary move abroad.

Geo Team report that all documentation is now finalised. This allows the 20-year-old to settle quickly and begin his adaptation on the pitch. Watford have not issued a public statement yet, but the player is set to be assessed as soon as training begins.
