Chelsea have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Jeremy Jacquet after Stade Rennais boss Habib Beye admitted anything is possible between now and the end of the window. The Blues remain locked in negotiations with the Ligue 1 club, who are reluctant to sell the 20-year-old midway through the season.

One option being suggested is the France Under-21 international joining Chelsea this month before returning to Roazhon Park for the remainder of the campaign. Jacquet is understood to want a move to Stamford Bridge to go ahead if a deal can be agreed.

And Beye has admitted: “There are still a few days left in the transfer window; anything can happen. We need things to be as calm as possible.”

A fee of £60m has been spoken about, and Beye’s update comes days just after he admitted a transfer could happen due to the economics involved.

“I’m amazed by the calm with which he’s handling this situation. I felt he was very focused on what he’s currently experiencing,” he said.
