Arsenal got their first away win at Chelsea in more than seven years on Saturday.

Second-half goals from Beth Mead and Mariona Caldentey sealed a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge that got the Gunners to within one point of Chelsea in the Women’s Super League table.

It meant the Blues were throwing everything they could at the task of chasing the game in the last half-hour.

And defender Lucy Bronze rued their missed chances after the match.

“At the end we probably created enough chances to at least get one goal back,” she told the BBC, who broadcast the match.

“We might have swung it a little bit. I think in the first half they started really well, but it was a bit of a basketball match up and down the pitch, and then they were just clinical on those chances that they had.

“The second [Arsenal goal] was a bit of a killer – two in quick succession. At the end you saw us pushing, probably deserved to get a goal. Maybe we could have nicked a point, but that’s football.”
