Leicester City would be signing a “complete” number nine if they sealed a move for Ivorian striker Ibrahim Diabate.

City are said to have agreed a deal for the 26-year-old, who, playing for GAIS, finished as joint-top scorer in Sweden in the 2025 season with 18 goals in 29 appearances.

The previous year, Diabate’s first in the Swedish top flight, he scored just one goal in 20 appearances for relegated Vasteras SK. But GAIS saw enough in him to sign him on a free transfer and it’s a move that worked out handsomely.

GAIS manager Fredrik Holmberg says he has all of the attributes needed to be a well-rounded centre forward.
