This season has been far from ideal for Everton to date.

Despite their disappointing start to the campaign, the Toffees are still two places above relegation at the start of 2026.

There are four points separating the Blues and their bitter rivals Liverpool who are currently bottom of the league.

That gap could be about to open up however, with Everton finally looking like they are hitting form.

Brian Sorensen’s team lost 2-0 to Manchester City in the first game of 2026. The loss to City certainly won’t have been too harmful to Everton, considering the champions elect have dropped points just once this season.

Sorensen was keen not to take the West Brom test lightly this week and his side didn’t mess around.

Everton thrashed West Brom 5-0 away from home and they looked impressive doing it.
